What is an ERP system?
ERP stands for enterprise resource planning. ERP software connects core areas such as finance, purchasing, sales, stock and production on a shared data basis. For example: a customer orders, sales records the order, the warehouse sees what needs to be shipped and accounting issues the invoice.
Which companies is Sage X3 suitable for?
Sage X3 is aimed at companies in trade, production and services that need more than accounting. Typical users are SMEs with a warehouse, their own manufacturing or several sites. Sage X3 can map several companies, currencies and languages in one system, which helps when a company grows or operates internationally.
How does an ERP differ from accounting software?
Accounting software records receipts, payments and closings. An ERP covers the whole process, from quote to order, stock and production through to the invoice, and posts to finance automatically along the way. Switching is worthwhile when data is transferred back and forth between several programs and lists.
Which areas does Sage X3 cover?
- Finance and controlling: manage invoices, payments and costs.
- Sales: create quotes and process orders.
- Purchasing: order from suppliers and keep track of deliveries.
- Stock and logistics: record stock, goods receipts, shipping and inventories.
- Production: plan manufacturing orders and materials.
- Reporting and analysis: evaluate revenue, costs and stock.
Can Sage X3 be adapted to your own processes?
Yes. We add your own fields, views, rules and approvals in an update-safe way, so your customisations are retained after a release. We are transparent about what the standard covers and where additional development or interfaces are needed.
Cumbersome and complex is a thing of the past: with Sage X3 you move forward better in every respect and can grow along the way.
How does Sage X3 work with CRM and business intelligence?
With a suitable interface, customer data and orders are exchanged between CRM and ERP, for example with Salesforce. Business intelligence lets you analyse ERP data, such as how revenue, costs or stock develop.
What do companies using Sage X3 say?
Sage X3 increases our employees’ self-reliance.
At Swissgenetics, according to Markus Zogg, Sage X3 already delivers 80–90 per cent of the functions as standard. 3S Solar Plus AG introduced Sage X3 within six months and now covers all business processes in finance, supply chain and production management with it. Which industries rely on Sage X3?
Among our clients, companies from telecommunications, industry, agriculture and laboratory diagnostics use Sage X3, for example Comfone, 3S Solar Plus, Swissgenetics and Suisselab. What they have in common is that orders, stock, production or several companies need to come together on a single database.
How is Sage X3 introduced?
As with any ERP, in five steps: understand processes, plan together, set up and test, prepare the team, then support and extend. With the core modules this usually takes three to six months for SMEs. More in our guide to ERP implementation.
Where does Sage X3 run?
Either in a Swiss data centre or on your own infrastructure. On request, we take care of operation, backups and updates entirely.
